Building Restoration Specialties Inc. (BRS) has specialized in masonry restoration, preservation, and conservation of historic buildings since 1986. We practice The National Historic Preservation guidelines, techniques, and methods everyday.

Position: Mason Tender

Location: Denver, CO

BRS is hiring a Mason Tender to support its masonry crews on historic restoration and new construction projects throughout the Denver Metro area. Mason Tenders play an essential role on the jobsite, keeping masons supplied with materials and equipment so that work continues safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on, physically demanding position suited to a dependable, safety-conscious individual who is comfortable working outdoors in all weather and at height.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Mix mortar and supply masons with materials, tools, and equipment throughout the workday
  • Transport and stage materials such as mortar bags, brick, stone, and scaffolding components on and around the jobsite
  • Set up, maintain, and break down scaffolding and other access equipment as directed
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards
  • Support crews on historic restoration and new masonry construction projects across the Denver Metro area, with occasional travel outside the metro area
  • Work at height and in all seasonal weather conditions
  • Follow all jobsite safety protocols and BRS procedures
  • Be ready to learn the trade – this position is meant to be a starting point to grow with BRS

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation to and from job sites
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 90 lbs (e.g., mortar bags)
  • Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, bend, and work in physically demanding positions for extended
    periods
  • Comfortable working at heights and in all climate conditions
  • Strong safety orientation and willingness to follow established safety procedures
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Dedication and a strong work ethic
